Monday

Log on.  Enthusiasm abounds. Spirits are high. Everyone checks in, except one. Where is he? Oh, there he is. He slept in. Nice  pyjamas. Is that an Oodie? I’m glad you’re here. LET’S DO THE THING. WE CAN DO THIS. WE ARE A TEAM. WE CAN HELP EACH OTHER. NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND.

Learn. Eat. Break. Repeat.

Tuesday

Log on. Enthusiasm…mostly there.  Submissions aplenty. Bar some. Where are they? Oh, right. Technical difficulties. Have you tried turning it off and on? It’s 10am and Mum is stressed? Tell her it’s fine. We’ll catch up on the work later. Just try turning it off and on. I’ll see you if you come back. Good luck! Tell Mum it’s going to be okay. Really.

Learn. Eat. Break. Breathe. Repeat.

Wednesday

Morning check in. Tell me something you’re grateful for.

“Cheesecake. I love cheesecake. I love the way it feels on my tongue.”

“My PS4 and when I grow up I’m going to buy every gaming console there is.”

“FOOD.”

“Miss, I’ve forgotten my password.”

“I have a dog.”

“I didn’t do any of the work you asked me to but I built a ship out of LEGO!”

Swear words abound as inside thoughts. Swirling, whirling, someone give me strength to get through this day. My brain – have I tried turning it off and on? That might help. Find some cake. Have a coffee. Breathe.

Learn. Eat. Break. Breathe. Cake. Repeat.

Thursday

Checking in. We are checking in. It is time to check in. Are we checking in? Where is everyone? Oh, there you are. The lone ranger. Thankyou for being here. Could you tell your friends it’s time to learn?

Coffee. Snacks. Coffee. Snacks. Brain break. Change from night  pyjamas to day  pyjamas.

Oh excellent, now there are two of you online. Glad you could be here.

Learn. Eat. Break. Breathe. Coffee. Snacks. Repeat.

Friday

Log on.

PING. One task has been submitted.

“Miss, thankyou for the work you’ve posted for us this week. I really don’t like these lockdowns. I miss you. I miss my friends. When can we come back to school?
