School shutdowns

With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to develop across the country, teaching and learning will look a little different this term. To help our teachers manage this, we’ve pulled together this page to outline our processes for enabling teachers to teach maths despite students being at home.

Teaching during school shutdowns

We’re watching the developing COVID-19 situation and our main focus is on supporting you through this challenging time.

We are putting in special measures to ease the administrative burden for all teachers. This includes working on a number of technology changes to make life easier.

We will continue to update you as these changes are made.

We have also put together a set of articles to outline how best to continue running components of our model — like modules, mini-lessons and Rich Learning— with your students online. They provide context-based examples and practical approaches that you can use in your practice moving forward.

A message from our co-founders

The world is facing an extremely difficult time right now, and we would like to take a moment to acknowledge it.

2020 has not started the way many of us thought it would. And unfortunately there are more challenging months ahead.

Our first priority is keeping our team and our community safe and we have put measures in place to do just that.

But the purpose of this message is to let you all know that we are thinking of you in these trying times. Teachers had a difficult job before all of this and we know that the additional pressure and uncertainty are adding to your workload and stress.

We want you to know that we are here for the Maths Pathway Community — to provide support, advice, resources and a space for teachers to share ideas.

We’re also working hard to provide you with new product features that make it easier for you to operate during school shutdowns.

If there is anything else that we can do to support you, please reach out. We’d love to hear from you.

We would like to send our best wishes to all of you and your families. Stay safe, keep up to date with expert advice and look after each other.

The good news

We’re used to working online at Maths Pathway and we’re quite good at it. Our team is fully equipped to undertake all of their typical in-office work at home, including our Support and Engineering teams.

That means we can still provide you with the same great product and service that we always have.
