Learning Intentions

Become a qualified Maths Pathway trainer equipped to successfully implement the Learning Model and run a professional development program back at school. By building teacher capacity, you will be able to deliver a maths course which is balanced, meaningful and impactful.

Become change facilitators to manage a smooth transition to the new learning model using carefully structured plans to address school leadership, parents, students and teachers.

Be welcomed into a nation-wide community of maths teachers driving reform throughout the system, sharing resources, and experiences with each other. All of this while sharing a common commitment to improving the maths learning of students.

Who should attend?

Most schools send their maths coordinator to the retreat, although other teachers with strong leadership capabilities are also very welcome. 2 or 3 teachers in total from your school is usually ideal.

Day 1: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner

Day 2: breakfast, morning tea, lunch

Attendance at dinner on Day 1 is required to be eligible for your PD hours. It is an opportunity to network and engage with like-minded teachers. Breakfast is included with all overnight accommodation.

Accommodation

The Retreat cost of $990 (incl GST) includes twin share accommodation for the first night only. You will be assigned to share with the same gender and first preference will be with another person from your school.

You can upgrade to a private room for $110 (incl GST) per person, per night. You will have the opportunity to request this during the registration process. Breakfast is included with all overnight accommodation.

Arriving the night before the Retreat

Some teachers prefer to arrive the night before the Retreat. One extra night's accommodation is an additional $110 (incl GST) per night, per person. Please indicate this preference when registering.

Professional Development

You will receive a Teacher Identified certificate of learning for 18 PD hours. The AITSL Standards addressed are:
