TAS Maths Pathway 101: Introductory training for new Maths Pathway teachers

A one-day introduction to all the necessary elements required for a successful start to your first Maths Pathway class in 2020. Attendees will gain familiarity with the teacher and student portals, learn how to smoothly introduce model elements to their students like diagnostics and tests, understand how the Maths Pathway Learning and Teaching model works day to day, and explore Rich Learning Tasks. You will leave prepared for Day 1 in your first Maths Pathway classroom.

    10:40 - 11:00: Morning Tea
    11:00 - 11:45: The student portal and experience
    11:45 - 12:45: Rich Learning tasks
    12:45 - 1:30: Lunch
    1:30 - 2:30: Test administration and management
    2:30 - 3:30: Understanding the teacher portal and planning a cycle
    3:30 - 4:00: Wrap up

    Learning Objectives

    - Know what Maths Pathway is and isn't
    - Be comfortable with day-to-day management of a Maths Pathway class
    - Have a plan for the first few weeks in your Maths Pathway classroom
    - Get a taste of rich learning and know how it fits into a balanced maths program
    - Know what resources are available to you, and where to get help.

    Who should attend?

    Teachers who will be taking their first Maths Pathway class in 2020. Teachers with prior Maths Pathway classes may register, however schools are encouraged to prioritise sending their new-to-Maths-Pathway teachers to this introductory PD.

    Resources provided

    You will be provided with all program materials and have access to the tools and resources to give you immediate impact with your students.

    PD points

    You will also receive a certificate of learning for 7 Teacher Identified hours aligning with the 1.1, 1.2, 1.5, 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 5.4, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 7.4 AITSL Standards.

    Tickets are $340+GST per teacher.
    Send 2 teachers and get each for $319+GST.
    Send 3 or more teachers and get each for $299+GST.
